This laid-back, beachfront lodge owned by a group of surfers is a good value. Simple bungalows, spread around forested grounds, have sloping wooden ceilings, lofts, a couch, or extra beds downstairs (kids under 10 stay free in low season). Smaller standard rooms in two-story concrete buildings close to the road are not nearly as good a deal. The pool has a waterfall and is surrounded by trees, gardens, and thatch parasols. The open-air restaurant, nearby, has an ocean view and serves everything from falafel to filet mignon. Good waves break right in front of the hotel, so when the staff offers to arrange surfboard rentals and lessons, be sure to take them up on it.
