The Gilded Iguana Review

This lively hotel/bar/restaurant has been a Nosara fixture for more than 25 years. Televised sports, live music—on Tuesday and Friday nights—and lots of friendly regulars have made the open-air bar so popular that the owners had to expand it. There's an on-site surf school that can arrange surfing lessons and board rentals, as well as ATV rentals. Six large, air-conditioned rooms are lined up behind a small, kidney-shape pool with a refreshing waterfall and pool bar. For traditionalists, the original rooms have more character, in a shaded wooden building with louvered, screened windows letting in fresh breezes in lieu of air-conditioning.
