This charming hotel is on a working dairy and coffee farm constructed and once owned by former Costa Rican president Rodrigo Carazo. The farmhouse contains the reception desk, bar, and restaurant; down the hill are lovely casitas, each a replica of a traditional adobe farmhouse complete with whitewashed walls, tile floors, cane ceilings, and fireplaces. Resident guides lead nature walks through the adjacent cloud-forest reserve, which is excellent bird-watching territory. Horses are available for exploring the rest of the farm.

This was a great hotel - very remote and high up enough to be cool in the end of July. The staff was attentive and service was excellent. Giant picture windows in the cabinas and bathrooms make you feel like you're really outside. The bed was comfortable and breakfast was great. The flora and fauna are amazing and the little chapel was beautiful. I didn't have any spa treatments - you may not need them because this place is so tranquil and relaxing!
