Think of it as a hacienda motel. Close to EARTH, near the town of Guácimo, the Río Palmas has an open-air restaurant with a red-tile roof that grabs your eye as you're speeding by on the highway. The restaurant is a popular stop for tour buses or individual travelers en route to and from the Caribbean. Behind an arched, whitewashed entry gate, one-story tile-roof cabinas wrap around a central courtyard with a fountain. Exotic plantings abound, and the staff can arrange hikes, farm and jungle tours, and horseback rides to private waterfalls.
