This textbook backpacker hangout is the latest venture of Dutch and Canadian partners Toine and Sara Verkuijlen, who also run a Spanish school and hostel in Orosi. The café is bright and open, with groovy music and free-spirited clothes for sale. The creative menu ranges from traditional Costa Rican food to Kroket (deep-fried meat roll on a bun) and shish kebab. Helpful staff run a tourist-information desk inside.
