Fodor's Review:

This long-established lodge caters almost exclusively to sportfishing folk and tours, with a modern fleet of 10- and 26-foot sportfishing vessels. (Tarpon and snook are the catch here.) Guest rooms have twin beds, paneled ceilings, white curtains, and basket lampshades. The all-inclusive packages include airport pickup, all meals, and fishing trips; rates begin at about $1,500 per person. Alternatively, there are some fly-in, boat-out nature-tour packages that include Tortuguero National Park and are considerably cheaper. Given the logistics of getting here, it doesn't pay to stay only one night, and the packages begin at six days and five nights.

  • Hotel Details: 24 rooms
  • In-room: no phone, no TV.
  • In-hotel: restaurant, bar, laundry service.
  • Rate includes: All-inclusive
  • Credit Cards: AE, DC, MC, V
