Coopedota Santa Maria Review
The best place to buy local coffee is where 800 farmers bring their raw coffee beans to be roasted and packed into jute bags, the Coopedota Santa Maria, the first carbon-neutral coffee producer in the world. You can buy three dozen different coffee beverages and export-quality coffee at the shop for about $16 per kilo (2.2 pounds). Choose between light or dark roast and en grano (whole bean) or molido (ground). It's open Monday to Saturday 8:30 to 6, Sunday 1 to 6. The two-hour Coffee Experience tour ($20) reveals the whole process, from bean to bag, including insights into their innovative recycling systems. It's offered weekdays 7-5, weekends by appointments.
