Coconut Grove Oceanfront Cottages Review

Right on the beach, this well-maintained cluster of cabins and beach houses, set in a gorgeous garden with magnificent trees, is ideal for couples or families who want to fend for themselves. The two bamboo-furnished beach houses sleep up to six people and have full kitchens; the smaller cabins have kitchenettes and room for three. At night you can turn off the air-conditioning, open the screened windows, and fall asleep to the sound of the sea. The largest cottage, No. 5, is closest to the beach. There's a pretty pool, and yoga classes take place twice a week. The American owners have dogs, cats and a parrot, among other pets.

    Coconut Grove Oceanfront Cottages Review

    We have stayed at coconut grove twice in the past couple of years. We have yet to find another cottage resort in C.R. that has essentially a private beach and the kind of quiet tropical atmosphere that coconut grove has. The owners are very likeable and engaging. They have an 'all-you-have -to-do-is-ask' attitude and will go out of their way to inform and organize excursions with local tour operators.
    The great danes are no longer around, but the roti is a big baby and the other dogs always showed up for breakfast on our patio. Was wonderful companionship for us dog owners. Even though I'm sure they just wanted my bacon.
    Excellent clean cabins, good central location. The ONLY con is that the highway is now paved from quepos to dominical and there is a bit of jake brake noise at times. Personally the nieghbours rooster was more of a distraction at 4 AM.
    We will be returning with our family in 2012 hopefully and we are looking forward to seeing the owners again.
    P.S. who doesn't love dogs???
