Jinetes de Osa Review

The most comfortable and reasonably priced place to stay in the village of Drake, this small bayside hotel with a casual open-air restaurant has simple rooms with tile floors and hot-water showers. Two cheaper rooms share a bathroom, but the rest have private baths. All open out onto a pleasant terrace with a view of the town and the bay. Guests get to leave their artistic signatures on painted driftwood mobiles that decorate the restaurant. The on-site diving operation is well run, so the lodge is often filled with groups of divers.

    Rustic and relaxed

    Lodge was rustic and relaxed, from the hour long river trip to get there, to jumping into the surf, because the town hasn't a public dock, the location meant we were away from the overly civilized tourist areas. Rooms were sparkling and comfortable, and occasional lack of hot water or scorpion strolls across the ceiling, were only reminders, that after all we were in the rainforest. National park excursion yielded sightings of macaws, alligators, monkeys and a tapir. The lodge had a perfect vantage point for sunrises (with coffee delivered to the room) and sunsets over Bahia Drake.

    Great Place in Drake Bay

    Stayed here for 5 days with my wife and 10 year old son. One of the only places my son, or any of us for that matter, didn't get bored at. Tons of wild life, excellent food served at big tables with lots of other fun and adventure minded people like us. Great fresh baked bread every night at dinner. Would definitely take my family back again and I would easily recommend this place to my more adventurous friends.
