South Pacific Coast Shopping

Depósito Libre

Depósito Libre Review

Ticos are drawn to Golfito's duty-free bargains on such imported items as TV sets, stereos, and tires, but it's also a good place to stock up on wine and liquor. To shop at the Depósito Libre you have to register in the afternoon with your passport to shop the next morning; this means spending the night in Golfito. Shopping is sheer madness in December. The place is closed on Monday, but you can stop in and pick up your boleta for the next day.
