Surfing
On the eastern side of Cabo Matapalo, waves break over a platform that creates a perfect right, drawing surfers from far and wide, especially beginners. Local surf expert Oldemar (aka Pollo) Fernandez offers daily lessons at Pan Dulce Beach at his Pollo Surf School (8366-6559 www.pollosurfschool.com) for $55 per person in a group lesson; $110 for private lessons.
