Getting Here and Around

Lanquín is about five hours from Guatemala City (take the Carretera Atlántica to El Rancho, where you'll take Route 17 north, then switch to a mountainous dirt road). It's about an hour and a half from Cobán, where you can rent a car, take a public bus or a collective van, or sign on to an organized tour to get to the caves.
