A Simple Itinerary

Day 1: Spend the morning sunning on Playa Caleta or Playa Revolcadero. Later, do a little shopping on the Costera and enjoy a cocktail in one of its many bars. Have dinner in an Acapulco Diamante restaurant overlooking the bay before heading to a Costera club.

Day 2: Visit Old Acapulco and El Fuerte de San Diego in the morning. In the afternoon, visit the aquarium or go parasailing or waterskiing. In the evening, check out La Quebrada's cliff divers.

Day 3: Take a cab or bus to Pie de la Cuesta, a beach strip west of downtown. Stay to see Acapulco's most brilliant sunset before heading back to town for dinner. Alternatively, take a day trip to the mountain town of Taxco, a 3½-hour drive away, where you can take in a museum and shop for fine silver jewelry.
