Mezzanine Thai Review
People come from Playa del Carmen for the zingy flavors of this authentic Thai restaurant. Recipes start with homegrown basil, chile, mint, and lemongrass, which are grown from seeds brought over from Thailand. The spiciness of the soups and curries (made with house-made coconut milk) are rated as "Tourist," "Expatriate," and "Truly Thai." For something a bit milder, try the sweet-and-sour chicken, fish, or shrimp. Also available are salads, Thai noodles, and grilled fish wrapped in banana leaves. The Asian parasols and red decor complete the setting. This place can get loud on Friday nights when a live DJ spins poolside.
