Cocina 88

Cocina 88 Review

Teeming with a crowd of well-dressed local yuppies and business travelers every night of the week, this hip restaurant housed in a converted 90-year-old mansion not only serves fresh, wonderfully prepared steaks and seafood, it also provides a unique experience. If you arrive at gringo time, before 9 pm, you'll likely encounter the owner, Enrique, a character who likes to show off the wine store and food selections, which you can choose yourself in the front kitchen area. Ask him if he can make a sampler plate. Margaritas come complete with their own miniature bottles of Don Julio. And if you plan to return during your trip, you can buy a bottle of tequila or other liquor and store the leftovers in the wine cellar to await your next visit.
