By Subway in Guadalajara

By Subway

Guadalajara's underground tren ligero (light train) system is clean, safe, and efficient. Line 1 runs north-south along Avenida Federalismo from the Periférico (city beltway) Sur to Periférico Norte, near the Benito Juárez Auditorium. Line 2 runs east-west along Juárez from Tetlán in eastern Guadalajara to Avenida Federalismo, with stops at Avenida 16 de Septiembre (Plaza Universitario) and Mercado Libertad. Lines 1 and 2 form a "T," meeting at the Juárez station at Parque Revolución, at the corner of Avenida Federalismo and Avenida Juárez. Trains run every 10 minutes from 5 AM to midnight; a token for one trip costs about 35.
