Playa Tiburón (Shark Beach) Review

Like Playa Lancheros, Playa Tiburón (Shark Beach) is on the west side of the island facing Bahía de Mujeres, and so its waters are also exceptionally calm. Once a respite from the crowds, this has become a more developed beach, with a large, popular seafood restaurant (through which you actually enter the beach) that serves burgers, hot dogs, and fish. There are several souvenir stands selling the usual T-shirts, as well as handmade seashell jewelry. On certain days you can find women who will braid your hair or give you a henna tattoo. This beach also has two sea pens with sleepy and relatively tame nurse sharks. Swim with them for $2 or just snap a photo. Amenities: food and drink; toilets. Best for: snorkeling; swimming.

Amazing food and views!!!

This place has some of the best food that I have eaten! They are simple dishes but are heaven on earth! The nachos are amazing and they grill a whole fish that is seasoned with spices that is to die for!!! They have hotdogs and burgers too. We can eat while our daughter plays on the beach. They have great views of Cancun from the patio. You can swim with the nurse sharks or just hang out on the beach. Whatever you choose, you will not be disappointed. Go check it out!!'
