A mosaic sign (made by co-owner Ricardo Rode) near the entrance hints at the beauty inside this small inn. Brilliant purple bougainvillea and orange lipstick vines line the patio, which showcases more of Rode's works by the fountain and small pool. Bóveda-style (arched brick) roofs top the rooms, which have terra-cotta-tile floors and handmade Guadalajaran furniture. One room is accessible to travelers with disabilities. Owner Sandra Scandiber dispenses budget travel tips while visiting with guests in the courtyard, and is always ready to lend books from her huge library. Checks or cash are accepted at the hotel; to use a credit card, you must pay prior to arrival through PayPal.
