The Corridor

Got a spare million or two in the bank? Cabo's realtors would be delighted to show you around the exclusive developments cropping up like anthills along the Corridor's wild cliffs. Highway 1 dips into arroyos (riverbeds) and climbs into a floodplain studded with boulders and cacti between San José del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas. And this stretch of desert terrain has long been the haunt of the rich and famous. In the 1950s a few fishing lodges and remote resorts with private airstrips attracted adventurers and celebrities. Major development began in the mid-1980s, and today the region has gated communities, large-scale resorts, posh hotels, and championship golf courses.
