Rising abruptly from the sea are the hilly cobblestoned streets of El Centro (Downtown), lined with white-washed homes and shops. South of the Río Cuale, the Zona Romántica (Romantic Zone, or Col. E. Zapata) has PV's highest density of restaurants and shops.
