Sights & Beaches Overview

Sightseeing in PV primarily involves checking out the waves, the parasailers, and the hawkers at the beach, not visits to museums and monuments. When you tire of working on your tan at one sandy stretch, you simply rent a car and drive north or south to another, perhaps stopping en route to explore a fishing village or two. That said, there's no shortage of activities, including horseback riding, golf, hiking, mountain biking, wild-life watching, and every water sport imaginable. Canopy tours, day cruises, and overnight excursions to inland mountain towns are also options. Of course, you should spend at least one day -- preferably a rainy one -- shopping and gallery hopping in town or getting a treatment in a resort spa. An evening stroll along the malecón is also a must; so is at least one elegant dinner followed by a full night of bar hopping.
