On the Cerro de las Pilas, the highest spot in El Fuerte, you'll find this adobe-and-wood posada. It's certainly rustic—the stone wall of one room is actually part of the hillside. Guest rooms are creatively decorated with antiques. It's called a "Bird Paradise" with good reason: hummingbirds frequent the feeders around the terrace.
