Pisté
The town of Pisté serves primarily as a base camp for travelers to Chichén Itzá. Hotels, campgrounds, restaurants, and handicrafts shops tend to be less expensive here than those at the ruins. Just outside the ruins is Zona Hotelera (Hotel Zone), comprised of three pricier properties: Villas Arqueologicas, Mayaland, and Hacienda Chichén Resort. Only the last property offers a true Mayan experience, is eco-friendly, and gives back to the local community.
