This pleasant and confortable hotel has an excellent location two blocks from the zócalo in downtown's best shopping area. The rooms here include colonial touches, like red and white tile floors, carved cedar doors, and rocking chairs on the wide verandas, but there are also modern conveniences like minibars and double-paned windows to keep out the noise. The rich decor and thoughtful details, like the hand-painted plates, make this place seem more like a home than a hotel; the open central patio in the lobby area is a lovely spot for a meal or a drink. There's a small pool, and guests have access to a golf and tennis club about 20 minutes away by car.
