Sierra Llorona Panama Lodge Review
Birdsong is the Muzak at this small lodge in the rain forest, making it an ideal place for bird watchers and other nature lovers. The lodge protects 500 acres of rain forest that can be explored on 6 km (4 mi) of trails, but many visitors are happy to sit in the garden and wait for the hummingbirds, toucans, and other colorful critters to arrive. The lodge is simple but comfortable, with rooms in the old family home and a nearby building that has small balconies overlooking the woods. Breakfast is included, and they serve family-style lunches and dinners. The local guide speaks very little English, so if you want a bilingual birding guide, you'll need to reserve one, and pay extra. The lodge is a short drive up a narrow road from the Transístmica (their Web site has driving directions). They can arrange transportation from Panama City or Colón.
