Emergencies

Ambulance service can be slow in rural areas. There are clinics in some of the rural communities, but they are good for little more than first aid. If you suffer an accident or have medical problems, get to the Hospital Punta Pacífica or Centro Médico Paitilla in Panama City as soon as possible.
