Vancouver International Airport is on Sea Island, about 23 km (14 mi) south of downtown off Highway 99. An airport-improvement fee is assessed on all flight departures: C$5 for flights within British Columbia or the Yukon; C$15 for all other flights. Major credit cards and Canadian and United States currencies are accepted. Alaska, American, British Airways, Continental, Northwest, Qantas, and United serve the airport. The two major domestic carriers are Air Canada and WestJet.

The drive from the airport to downtown takes 20 to 45 minutes, depending on the time of day. Airport hotels provide shuttle service to and from the airport. If you're driving, go over the Arthur Laing Bridge and north on Granville Street (also signposted as Highway 99). Signs direct you to Vancouver City Centre.
The Vancouver Airporter Service bus leaves the international- and domestic-arrivals levels of the terminal building approximately every half hour, stopping at major downtown hotels. The first bus arrives at the airport at 6:10 AM, and the service runs until 11:30 PM. The fare is C$12 one-way and C$18 round-trip.
Taxi stands are in front of the terminal building on domestic- and international-arrivals levels. The taxi fare to downtown is about C$25. Area cab companies include Black Top and Yellow.
Limousine service from LimoJet Gold costs about C$50 one-way.
To travel downtown by public transit, take any TransLink bus marked Airport Station; then transfer at Airport Station to a No. 98 Burrard Station bus. To return to the airport, take a No. 98 Richmond Centre bus and transfer at Airport Station.
