Inside a little frame house built in 1916, this nationally recognized 46-seat café opened in 1979 and is still going strong. The menu changes every week, and the wine list encompasses more than 400 international choices. For an appetizer, try the king crab-stuffed squash blossoms or fresh Kachemak Bay oysters. The outstanding made-at-your-table Caesar salad is a superb opener for the baked halibut with a macadamia crust served with coconut curry sauce and fresh mango chutney.

THE best food in Alaska - or just about anywhere. Reservations are essential as it is very small, but you don't feel crowded and the wait staff are as professional as any you will find. The Caesar's garlic will keep werewolves away. The night will be memorable from starters to dessert! We travel all over the world and are hard pressed to think of a better dinner that we have had. A second visit will find you greeted like you are family.
