Fantastic Views & Great Photo Ops

A visit to the depot is a definite stop worth making in Anchorage! You'll get excellent views of Sleeping Lady across the inlet and fun photo ops in front of the totem and train displays. Plus, inside the depot, you can buy a railroad souvenir while you get a free dip into Anchorage's history. Where else can you watch people in business suits and hip waders fishing on their lunch hour? From the depot, it's easy to walk up to the Coastal Trail to the west, or visit the Ulu factory to the east. The Bridge restaurant is also close by. They have more than just the regular so-so menu you see so often downtown, plus displays of historic photos you won't find elsewhere. There's a free shuttle that circles thru downtown with a stop at the depot, or you can walk up the stairs to the Saturday Market and Eisenhower Monument.
