Fodor's Review:
When it opened in 1912, the San Marcos was the first golf resort in Arizona and it's still one of the state's most treasured landmarks. Now part of the Crowne Plaza family, the palm-studded, mission-style San Marcos has undergone luxury upgrades to keep it on par with the competition, while maintaining its historic beauty and charm. Improvements include the Images day spa and restyled rooms with pillow-top mattresses, high-thread-count sheets, and down-filled duvets. Each room and suite has either a balcony or patio and the quiet, single-level golf-course casitas offer patios with "Fore!-star" views. The resort operates an on-site Starbucks and there's great nearby shopping and dining.
