Philippe Jeanty's menu draws its inspiration from the cooking of his French childhood. His traditional cassoulet will warm those nostalgic for France, and the bistro classic steak frites might be served with a decadent béarnaise sauce. The scene here is Gallic through and through, with a small bar and a handful of tables in two crowded rooms. The best seats are in the back room, near the fireplace.

I dream about the wonderful meals at Bistro Jeanty, especially the coq au vin.

Totally Overrated

Pleasant enough atmosphere with very good service, but the food was really terrible - nothing subtle about the flavors - almost burned in some cases, a mass of heavy, obvious, overdone dishes. Perhaps meant to be robust, but they were actually very poorly prepared. Really a huge disappointment. Skip it.

What a great value for fantastic food! The atmosphere is homey and the service superb, and the menu selection is more extensive than Bouchon's. Can't wait to go back again soon!

Went there teh first night in Calif after a long day`s flight. Found the service to be simply great, the food terrific and very tasty (especially that tomato soup!). The place is really "cute" and charming. It was a wonderful opening to a wonderful trip in Napa area. The place was easy going, not noisy and pleasantly relaxing. A good Bistro very much in the French tradition. Try it. I really think you`ll like it.

can't wait to go back

This is one of the best restaurant at Napa. Excellent food at affordable price. we had the tomato soup, fois gras, some other small fried fishes, and they were the best appetizers!! I was in heaven!! My boyfriend ordered coq au vin as his main course, and i ordered steak tartare, which turned out to be a big mistake. I usually don't have problem with raw meat, but steak tartare turned out to be a HUGE pile of raw meat, and i felt sick just by looking at it. I still think this is an excellent restaurant, and can't wait to try something different next time.
