Hotels Overview

Along the coast there's been a small flurry of luxury resort openings in the past few years; Laguna's Montage resort made a big splash in 2003, followed by the renovation of Newport Beach's Balboa Bay Club and Huntington Beach's Hyatt Regency Resort and Spa. (In most cases, you can take advantage of some of the facilities of such resorts, such as restaurants or spas, without being an overnight guest.) As a rule, lodging prices tend to rise the closer the hotels are to the beach. If you are looking for value, consider a hotel that is inland along the I-405 corridor.
