This all-suites B&B occupies four Spanish colonial-style 1915 residences connected by courtyards. Prices are reasonable for romantic one- and two-bedroom suites, done in Italian, French, Spanish, or early-California style. Some rooms have fireplaces, whirlpool tubs, patios, and kitchens. A generous, complimentary continental breakfast is delivered to your room on Monday-Saturday mornings; you also get a newspaper. The lack of off-street parking is inconvenient, but the San Diego Zoo is a 10-minute walk away.

WARNING : Watch Out for the Cancelation Policy
Posted by JennaRody from Canada on 7/3/07
Unfortunately on the eve to our dream California vacation my boyfriend discovered that his passport had expired. Because of this we had to cancel the whole trip very last minute. As outlined in the confirmation letter I understood their policy, which was basically if you do not cancel within 7 days of the reservation you have to pay in full for all days booked. Trust I would never had made a reservation for a place like this if I planned to cancel. Alas, sh%t happens. I understand paying for the first night seeing how this was so last minute, however, the second night? You would think explaining our situation to the owner she would give a break on the charge for the second night. She didnt. She was extremely curt, a major change in tone from the nice lady I talked too at booking. Fair? I know it was in the rules, however, being rudely treated has left a bitter taste. When we go to rebook it will not be at an independently owned establishment and definitely not the Balboa Park Inn.
