The Beach House Hotel

$, South Beach/Miami Beach

Fodor's Review:

This is the lightest hotel in spirit and on the wallet in Bal Harbour. Cookies at check-in, lollipops at turn-down, and seashell collections in the rooms are just a few of the homey services provided in this 1956 building, one of three hotels on Miami Beach (the Greenview and the Albion are the other two) owned by the Rubell family of Studio 54 fame. Spacious rooms (with tiny bathrooms) are filled with Ralph Lauren furniture and Nantucket-style wainscoting. The low-key atmosphere extends outdoors to a screened-in porch and poolside spa. The Atlantic restaurant serves oh-so-comforting American cuisine. The Bal Harbour shops are just two blocks away. Pros: Good value, cheery interiors, and walk to Bal Harbor Shops. Con: Far from South Beach action.
