This sprawling warehouse store 9 mi east of Atlanta may not be a true farmers' market, but it's truly a market experience to remember. Rows of bins of produce from around the world are perhaps the biggest attraction: root vegetables from Africa, greens from Asia, wines from South America, cheeses from Europe. The store also has one of the largest seafood departments in the country (a few species still swimming) and sizable meat, deli, and wine sections. The reasonably priced cafeteria serves dishes ranging from lasagna to goat stew. The market is accessible by MARTA bus from the Avondale rail station.
