Kalaekilohana

Fodor's Review:

You wouldn't really expect to find a top-notch B&B in Kau, but just up the road from South Point, this charming yellow house offers large, comfortable private suites with beautifully restored hardwood floors, private lanai with ocean and mountain views, and big, comfy beds decked out with high threadcount sheets and fluffy down comforters. Breakfast is entirely up to the guest; choose between a full hot breakfast or a Continental breakfast of local fruits and baked goods. For those anxious to get an early start on exploring the area's green and black sand beaches or Volcanoes National Park (a half hour drive away), hosts Kenny Joyce and Kilohana Domingo are happy to pack a bento box to go. Guests can also look forward to a nightly cocktail hour and plenty of great advice from their hosts.
