The 67-story Park Hyatt, which dominates the skyline high above the old water tower, outdoes its grand hotel neighbors by going all out with extras. Splash out on one of their enormous suites and you'll discover Art of Shaving amenities in the bathrooms, TVs over the bathtubs, and motion-sensor lights in the closets. Not much here has been overlooked. For a price there are plenty more extravagances to be had, including a butler-drawn candlelit bath. The beautifully designed public spaces feature a world-class collection of sculpture and painting, including works by Gerhardt Richter and Isamu Noguchi. The sweeping views from the pool and spa look out to the horizon over Lake Michigan.

Contemporary Hotel With Old-Fashioned Great Service
Posted by Patricia from North Carolina on 8/24/06
My sister and I stayed for 4 nights in the Water Tower Room--the roomy balcony gave us a perfect view of the water tower, horse-drawn carriages, etc. Since the room was a double/double rather than a king, the bathroom and shower were combined in one large area--very nice. The beds were soft and comfortable with very high-count linens. Every member of the staff that we encountered was friendly, professional, and went the extra mile to make our stay pleasant. Room service was prompt. Sunday brunch was expensive, but delicious. Contemporary sometimes means cold and uncomfortable; not here! We loved it.

Nice, but very expensive!

We stayed in a wonderful room with a small Terrace balcony, the bathroom was luxurious, large soaking tub and seperate glass shower. All rooms have the flat TV's and high-tech features, the downside is the cost of this hotel $500.00 a night.
