What began in the1850s as a modest neighborhood of working-class German families, Old Town now accommodates a diverse population and has some of the oldest -- and most expensive -- real estate in Chicago. It's bordered by Division Street to the south, Armitage Avenue to the north, Clark Street on the east, and Larrabee Street on the west, but its heart lies at the intersection of North Avenue and Wells Street. Besides its notable architecture, Old Town is home to the famous comedy clubs Zanies and The Second City.
