312 Chicago

$$, Italian, The Loop

User Rating: * 1.4

Fodor's Review:

312 Chicago. Part handy hotel restaurant, part Loop power diner, and all Italian down to its second-generation chef, 312 Chicago earns its popularity with well-executed dishes that range from basic rigatoni with meatballs to grilled lamb chops with mascarpone and black-truffle polenta. We're tempted to carbo-load on the house-baked bread alone. Tables in the bi-level eatery are quieter aloft, though you still may see the occasional hotel guest wander through, looking for the elevator.

Waiters are not to be found

The service was beyond horrible. The waiter forgot several orders at our table, and we couldn't get him back to coorect the problem (though we asked several other staff members). The items that they did deliver where not delivered together and where cold. OVvrall the food looked tempting on the menu but they didn't deliver. The atmosphere was crowded. It is a shame, as I really wanted to like this restaurant.
