$$$, French, Downtown
Fodor's Review:
A quaint, 20-table spot, Pigalle is a romantic destination to hit before taking in a show in the neighboring Theater District. Chef Marc Orfaly spices up basic French fare (steak frites, cassoulet) by throwing in the occasional Asian-inspired special. He plays around with global flavors so don't be alarmed to find spicy Szechuan pork on the nightly specials. For a delicious, cozy meal, this spot consistently has some of the best service in town.
