$$-$$$, Cambridge
Fodor's Review:
A gracious 1892 Greek Revival home listed on the National Register of Historic Places, A Cambridge House has richly carved cherry paneling, a grand fireplace, elegant Victorian antiques, and polished wood floors overlaid with Oriental rugs. One of the antiques-filled guest rooms has fabric-covered walls, and many have four-poster canopy beds. Rooms in the adjacent carriage house are smaller, but all have fireplaces. Harvard Square isn't terribly close, but public transportation is available nearby. Pros: Pretty public sitting areas with fireplaces are cozy places to relax; free parking; complimentary coffee, tea, and hot chocolate served all day. Cons: Not a lot happening in the area, the removed-from-it-all setting is not for everyone.
