Acclaimed chef Michael Schlow's notable contemporary French cooking lures scores of designer-clad diners to the Financial District. The decor and menu are minimalist at first glance, but closer inspection reveals equal shares of luxury, complexity, and whimsy. Peruse the menu for such choices as roasted beet salad, a selection of ceviches, buttery Scottish salmon, or coconut panna cotta for dessert. It's a meal made for special occasions and business dinners alike.

Extra Proud of their Product

OK, the atmosphere was top-notch, the service was perfect - not too overbearing but always attentive, and the food delicious. But they must have been very proud of their product. I ordered scallops ($37) and when the meal came, it consisted of scallops alright - three of them. While it was very good, I found myself asking with each bite, "Is this bite worth $7.25?" Included with the scallops was small portion of pasta to round out the meal. Overall, the experience was pleasant but I think one visit was enough for me.
