Chez Henri

$$-$$$, Eclectic, Cambridge

User Rating: **** 4.0

Fodor's Review:

French with a Cuban twist -- odd bedfellows, but it works for this sexy, confident restaurant. The dinner menu gets serious with rabbit paella and saffron rice, veal stew with buttered egg noodles, and sinfully sweet rum-laced pineapple cake. At the cozy bar you can sample spiced fries, clam fritters, and the best grilled three-pork Cuban sandwich in Boston. The place fills quickly with Cantabrigian locals -- an interesting mix of students, professors, and sundry intelligentsia.

Watch our for one particular hostess

While I think the food and the atmosphere at Chez Henri are both enjoyable, I was so scarred by the hostesses' treatment of me and my family that I will not be returning. She was unncecessarily rude to us from the beginning, and at one point when my mother sat down at what she thought was an empty table in the bar, the hostess pounced on her after saying, in a vicious tone of voice, to the couple waiting for the table, "let me take care of her".
