Fodor's Review:
Run by the same talented team that operates the West End's Red Inn, this regal, turreted beach house in the heart of Provincetown enjoys a wonderful location just steps from bars, shops, and restaurants as well as unobstructed water views from most rooms (rooms without water views cost a fraction of the price). White-picket porches and balconies envelope the inn's dapper shingle exterior. You won't find frill and excess here -- the airy rooms are done in a palette of whites and tans, with tasteful wicker furniture and, in many cases, four-poster beds and fireplaces. Four cottage units have private entrances, and the three most romantic accommodations occupy the turret. With a spacious lobby and professional staff, the Anchor feels more like a small luxury hotel than a typical Provincetown guesthouse, but an air of informality keeps the vibe relaxed and fun. There's a substantial continental-breakfast buffet in the morning. Pros: Unobstructed water views from most rooms, right in center of P'town action, rooms have sleek and luxurious style. Cons: Among the highest rates in town, significant minimum-stay requirements in summer, busy location.
