You can't think Vegas without thinking Bugsy Siegel. And yes, this is his ill-fated foray into Vegas real estate. But though it's massive, pink, and smack dab in the middle of the Strip, it's bland. Thankfully, the property is in the midst of a major room renovation, the first phase of which was completed early in 2007, with the rest to follow eventually. In the meantime, the elaborately landscaped complex of four pools is still one of the best and the newly redone rooms (called Flamingo Go rooms, and running about $50 to $100 more per night than standard rooms), with MP3 docking stations, 42-inch flat-screen TVs, and a futuristic look, are downright stylish. Gamble elsewhere -- the casino's too plain-Jane.

Very Disappointed

My wife and I love Las Vegas and would take 1 or 2 trips a year before we had children. One of our favorite places to stay was the Flamingo. We even honeymooned there! It had been 9 years since we had been there when we had the chance to go this June. Since it had been so long I did my research because I knew so much had changed. I checked out Fodor's 2008 Las Vagas Guide from the library. This guide was way too generous to the Flamingo. So was the Flamingo website. We were shocked at how worn the Flamingo has become. They have not maintained it well at all. Fodor's listed it at the top for Pool Scene. It was a great pool when we went 9 years ago but now it is dirty and not maintained well. We had to change rooms 3 times just to get an acceptable room. Finally we got a GO room that was very nice, but they made us pay extra. The Flamingo as we knew it does not exist anymore.

What a dump!

WOW-what a dump. The only way they could "REDO" this place would be how they did the Sahara-implode it. Rooms are old and tired, decor is vintage 60's trailer park and service is just sad. Food is as sad as the rest of the experience.

At Least the Location is Good

I have stayed at the Flamingo the last two visits to Las Vegas, and have not been impressed with the room. Both times, the room needed to be updated (new carpet, furniture, etc.). I even found ants in the bathroom on the last visit, and I was on a fairly high floor. Check-in and check-out lines seem to take longer than most. On the bright side, I did have a great view of "The Strip" on my most recent trip. Hopefully, now that Harrah's has taken over the Flamingo, it will improve!
