Built in 1836 as the first U.S. Mint, this building has been a home for art since 1936. Among the holdings in its impressive permanent collections are American and European paintings, furniture, and decorative arts; African, pre-Columbian, and Spanish-colonial art; porcelain and pottery; and regional crafts and historic costumes. Your ticket stub gets you free admission to downtown's Mint Museum of Craft + Design.
