Multitalented chef Francesco Martorella exercises his imagination in this somewhat stark space -- think of it as a blank canvas that allows him to create wonderful dishes ranging from grilled garlic-rubbed skirt steak with pomme frites to crispy ginger chicken breast with wasabi jasmine rice. The patrons, many of them music stars from the nearby Academy of Music, are drawn to this place where the chef is clearly in command and enjoys his position. An early crowd gives way to a more sophisticated group as the evening wears on and more and more bottles from the excellent wine list are poured.
