The first hotel in Dallas' burgeoning Victory Park makes a dramatic statement, altering the uptown skyline with a 33 story tower topped with glowing blue light. The crowd here is trend-conscious and pampered, and the décor is comfortable and minimalist -- eggplant-colored walls, neutral bed linens, low-profile furniture. Look for some whimsical nods to the chain's first Texas setting, including a curtain of cowboys, horses, and cows in the lobby. The W is just steps from the American Airlines Center -- home to the NBA's Dallas Mavericks and the NHL's Dallas Stars -- and minutes from downtown.

A Wonderful Experience

While I agree with the previous review's assessment of the cheap towels (whygo cheap on towels?), we just returned from a wonderful 3-day stay at the W Dallas Victory Hotel. The room was quiet, the bed was very comfortable, the bath products from Bliss were a treat, and the hotel staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome. An example of their great service: give them your flight information and they'll have your boarding passes printed for you when it's time to leave. There is also complimentary coffee in the lobby and a free car service for guests through Acura. Though this might not be an ideal hotel for the business traveler ($10 for wireless internet access in the room) it's a great destination for those seeking a spot to relax and have fun. Just pop your iPod into the docking station to listen to your party mix as you get ready and you'll appreciate what the W Dallas has to offer.RATING: 4.4
Worst Hotel Experence

I'm a platinum starwood Guest, so I stay in a number of Starwood locations during the year. The W - Victory Park is my worst experence at any starwood hotels. Cheap looking rooms, (Motel 6 type of towels), No atomsphere, had to ask of a bar of soap. It took 30 min to get my car. No coffee maker in room. For $20 more I can stay at the Ritz next door, next time I will.RATING: 1.2
