Cafe Septième
¢-$, Contemporary, Capitol Hill
Fodor's Review:
Everyone in Capitol Hill has been to Septième at least once. It's one of the more-reliable (and attractive) restaurants along a congested stretch of Broadway, and it has accommodating hours (9 AM to midnight daily) in a neighborhood where there's a dearth of good mid-range lunch spots. It looks like a French bistro, with its red-walled dining room, banquettes, and tables draped in white cloths, but it mostly serves such American standards as burgers, biscuits and gravy, and sandwiches; at dinner you'll also get pasta and seafood options. It's hard to save room for dessert here, but try anyway -- the cakes and tarts in the glass case are as good as they look.
