Raised high on stilts above Elliott Bay -- with the waves lapping right underneath it -- Seattle's only hotel on the water affords spectacular west-facing views of ferries and sailboats, seals and seabirds, and the distant Olympic Mountains. The whole hotel has a rustic-chic, elegant hunting lodge look, with plaid rugs and fabrics and peeled-log furnishings. Many rooms have gas fireplaces. Note that there is a significant price jump between the waterfront rooms and the waterfront premium rooms and the upgrade is not necessarily worth it unless you want a little more space. City-view rooms are very expensive, considering, but if you prefer the hotel's unique take on lodge decor to the sleek, modern look of most Downtown hotels, the expense might be justified, especially if you really like looking at the Space Needle. Some suites have full views, overstuffed chairs, and spa tubs; or just go all-out for the enormous, party-style Beatles Suite (Room 272), where the famous Brits stayed in 1964. The elegant Six Seven restaurant, with its timber-and-river-stone setting and crystal chandeliers, has indoor-outdoor seating with a bay vista.

Nice view but not much else

We paid New York City prices for a waterfront view and got only that. The room was fairly small for a king sized room but the Puget Sound view was incredible. Other than that the service was not good. No room service in the early evening due to a wedding. Mini-bar not refilled for two days despite a call to the fron desk. A view is great but some service to back it up should be expected

Luxury on the Water in Seattle
Posted by kimamom from CA/Oregon Coast on 2/27/07
We stayed three nights at the Edgewater and loved our stay. We had a panoramic waterview room which had nice fireplace and was well appointed. Comfy robes that I enjoyed each morning as I sipped coffee and watched the ferries glide by from our window.
Breakfast was included each morning at Six Seven, a lovely restaurant with beautiful views of Elliott Bay, we also enjoyed Calamari appetizers here one afternoon. The hotel also offers a shuttle that took us everywhere we wanted to go, they were courteous and effiecient when we called to pick us up.
The concierge was amazing, they arranged for a complimentary limo to pick us up and take us to dinner at Salty's on Alki Beach. We will definitely stay here again when we return to Seattle in the future.
